Ode to Ikea

    

Ikea is my most favorite store in the whole world (followed closely by Target). If I could go there once a month, I would. Unfortunately here in Colorado, there is NO IKEA! Some commerical genius south of Denver told Ikea that they could not emblazon the prospective building in blue and yellow and so the fount of modern furniture for the masses took their business elsewhere. What were you thinking Colorado? Of course it has to be blue and yellow!!! 

When we recently visited the Pacific Northwest, Phil and I (and really I mean myself) got our latest Ikea fix. Even though I was getting super sick that day, Ikea still was worth it. This time, we bought a box of graham crackers in the shape of the letters i, k, e, & a. It was awesome. I also got my dollar and a quarter soft serve cone.

And did you know there is an Ikea smell? It is a toasty cinnamon smell that comes from all the cinnamon rolls that they bake near the cash registers. Before we were even in the store, my nose told me we had arrived! 

Currently, I am coveting a new couch. Here is option #1: 

    This is the Klippan sofa. It goes for $499. It is even leather!!!! As far as furniture prices go, this is just unparalleled. Check out a Pottery Barn couch sometime. You’ll see what I mean. 

Here is option #2:

Just when you thought that Ikea was really too good to be true. It gets better. This Sater sofa is 6.5 feet long and is dark brown leather. All this for a sweet $399. That is right only $399 for this lovely loveseat.
